Andrew Brew

Andrew Brew has been using historical weapons since 1979 in the context of historical re-enactment, and has been studying and teaching from historical manuals since 1986. In the late '80s he established the swordplay curriculum for the Pike and Musket Society (early 17th century military re-enactment) based on study of Saviolo's Practice, with a dash of Capo Ferro and di Grassi.

He has regularly presented Historical European Swordplay to conferences of Australian re-enactors and martial artists since 1989. In 1998 he co-founded (with former student Stephen Hand) the Stoccata School of Defence, where he teaches Italian rapier and German longsword.
